JurisBuild Mobile Privacy Statement

Jurisbuild, Inc provides the JurisBuild iPhone and iPad app for authorized staff of firms using JurisBuild. This statement describes the mobile app’s data handling. Workspace data remains governed by JurisBuild’s agreement with the firm. The Google user data commitments in our Privacy Policy continue to apply, including its restrictions on AI use.

The app uses your firm workspace address, staff account identity, and a device connection to authenticate requests and enforce access permissions. JurisBuild stores the device’s connection identifier, registration information, and activity such as its last connection time so that you and your firm can manage connected devices.

Sign-in takes place on your firm’s hosted JurisBuild pages in Apple’s authentication browser. The app requests a separate sign-in session so enrollment does not replace your existing browser session. The app stores its authentication credentials in the iOS Keychain.

The app requests records you are permitted to access and sends the changes you submit, including notes, messages, intake answers, contacts, documents, and references to other workspace records. These are associated with your firm and account so the same work can continue on the web.

Depending on the intake or record, this information can include names, contact details, addresses, dates of birth, government or insurance identifiers, health and treatment information, disability details, income and wage information, and other case content. Files you choose to upload can include documents, images, audio, and video. Submit only information you are authorized to handle for your firm.

JurisBuild also records functional activity such as message read acknowledgements, notification status, and the result of submitted operations. This supports unread counts, activity records, and recovery of interrupted attempts.

The firm directory retains the contacts and relationships staff create. Service logs can retain requested URLs, including search terms, together with request timing and error information. AI usage records can also include the account, request duration, and outcome for service operation, limits, and billing. These records are separate from unsent drafts saved only on your device.

Downloaded records, files, and unsent drafts may be saved on the device. The app encrypts its saved workspace files and excludes them from cloud backups. Some preferences, such as appearance, are stored separately in the app’s settings.

Disconnect this device removes its saved workspace and unsynced drafts. It does not delete your staff account or shared records already saved to JurisBuild. Resolve pending work before disconnecting when possible.

The camera is used when you choose to scan a document. A scan or selected file is sent to your workspace when you upload it. Dictation uses the microphone and supported on-device speech recognition; the app does not send dictation audio to JurisBuild. Separately, an audio or video file you explicitly select for upload is sent to your workspace like other attachments. Dictation fills an editable draft and does not send it automatically. If you choose Scribe assistance, draft text is shared after the applicable AI permission.

You can decline camera or microphone permission and use other entry methods. When device unlock is enabled, iOS verifies Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode; JurisBuild receives an authentication result, not your biometric data or passcode. The app does not request your phone’s address book or GPS location. Addresses entered in an intake are part of that record.

If you enable push notifications, JurisBuild associates an Apple push token with your device connection to route alerts through Apple Push Notification service. By default, alerts use a general notice and notification identifiers. If you turn on Show Notification Details, Apple also receives the selected alert text, which can include names, work titles, and case details. iOS controls where previews appear. Opening an alert checks your current access before displaying the record. You can change details in JurisBuild and preview visibility, sounds, and notification permission in iOS Settings.

JurisBuild uses service providers to operate hosted authentication, storage, notifications, support, and the workspace features your firm uses. Actions that continue on the web use the corresponding JurisBuild web feature and any integrations enabled for it.

Public JurisBuild marketing and support pages use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to measure page use and performance. Authentication, device approval, and staff workspace pages are excluded from these marketing measurements. Public page URLs have their query parameters and fragments removed from measurement events. These services can still process public page URLs, referrers, browser and device information, approximate region derived from the network request, and page loading measurements. This is separate from the native app’s saved workspace and does not require GPS permission.

When your firm enables an AI feature, JurisBuild uses OpenAI and Anthropic to process the request, depending on the configured service. A Scribe Chat request can include your question, conversation history, and relevant workspace records that your account is permitted to read. Note assistance uses the note content and permitted context needed for the action. Document processing can include the selected file, extracted text, images, and associated filing or medical information. These records may contain personal, confidential, health, or financial information about clients and other people.

The mobile app explains this sharing and asks for your permission before initiating these AI features. Case-document uploads can also trigger your firm’s automatic text extraction and AI processing; the document permission covers that processing as well as requested filing suggestions or medical analysis. Only use these features for information you are authorized to share for your firm.

You can withdraw the mobile permissions in Account & Settings. Withdrawal stops new requests covered by that permission from this app; it does not undo completed processing, delete existing firm records, or change the firm’s processing of records submitted through other users or services. Your firm also controls which AI features your account can use. Permission on your phone does not override those controls. Reading an existing Scribe Score does not enable Scribe Chat.

Scribe output is provided for staff review and can contain errors. Review it against the underlying records before relying on it. Contact your firm or JurisBuild with questions about applicable processing and retention terms.

Your firm manages staff access and its shared records. For questions about a firm’s case information, retention, or deletion, contact that firm. Removing a device connection or an app installation does not remove records held in the firm’s workspace.

Retention varies by record type and service. Firm records are subject to the firm’s requirements and its agreement with JurisBuild; activity history, service logs, and backups can have separate retention periods. A device disconnect or a deletion request does not mean every server record or backup is immediately erased. Contact us for the retention and deletion information applicable to your account or a particular record.

Firm-workspace requests are handled in the context of the firm’s agreement and control of those records. We may need to verify your identity and the firm’s instructions before acting on a request involving its workspace.
